岗位职责

As an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Criminal Division, you will represent the United States in federal criminal prosecutions. You will be expected to exercise sound judgment in evaluating cases, making charging decisions, and recommending appropriate sentences. Additionally, you will participate in community outreach and training programs to enhance public safety and foster trust in the justice system. This position is entry-level, designed for recent law school graduates or those who will graduate by June 30, 2026. You will be part of a team dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and public service.

Required Qualifications: Must have graduated with a J.D. degree from an accredited law school or will graduate with a J.D. degree by June 30, 2026. Class rank must be within the top one-third of the law school class. If not already licensed, applicant must (1) have taken a state bar exam and are awaiting results or (2) will take a state bar exam within six months of law school graduation. Candidates must be admitted to practice and have an active bar membership before entering on duty. United States citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: Strong academics, outstanding organizational skills, superior legal writing and research ability, demonstrated analytical ability, good judgment and courtroom skills, and a commitment to professionalism, ethics, civility, and public service.
