The Child and Youth Program Assistant supports youth development through supervised activities, safety compliance, and program implementation at the Falcon Trail Youth Center.
岗位职责
The Child and Youth Program Assistant (Youth Center) is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, and supervision of developmentally appropriate activities for youth in a structured program environment. Duties include ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, maintaining a positive and engaging atmosphere, and supporting the overall mission of the youth center.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising youth during scheduled activities, including indoor and outdoor recreation, homework assistance, and enrichment programs.
- Implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment by following health and safety regulations.
- Interacting positively with youth, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community.
- Assisting with program administration tasks such as attendance tracking, supply inventory, and incident reporting.
- Adapting to flexible schedules, including split shifts, to meet program needs.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure consistent program delivery and adherence to policies.

ALL LEVELS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (proof required).
- Ability to pass a background check and meet security requirements.
ENTRY LEVEL:
- No previous experience required.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:
- Six months of experience working in a group program for children or youth (equivalent to CY-01 level).
- Completion of 3 Air Force modules (or equivalent) and AF Orientation Training Program.
TARGET LEVEL:
Must meet one of the following:
- 18 months of experience in a childcare or youth program, plus completion of DoD-approved competency-training courses (with entry and intermediate training complete).
- 18 months of experience in a childcare or youth program, plus possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Military School Age Credential, or other nationally recognized youth development credential.
- 18 months of experience in a childcare or youth program, plus an associate degree with 24 credit hours in a related field (e.g., early childhood education, child development, youth development).
- Possession of a CDA, Military School Age Credential, Army Youth Practicum, or other nationally recognized credential.
- A bachelor's degree or 120 semester hours with 24 credit hours in a related field (e.g., early childhood education, child development, youth development, human development, elementary education, special education, secondary education, youth program administration, recreation, physical education).
