Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering - Summer Internship - LM

As a Summer Intern in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, you will support and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the Electrical Motor Distribution Center and Modification Shop. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and supporting continuous improvement (CI) projects to enhance operational efficiency and quality. - Analyzing current processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and best practices. - Conducting data collection and analysis to measure performance metrics and project outcomes. - Assisting in the design and testing of modifications to electrical motors and related equipment. - Participating in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address operational challenges. - Documenting project progress, results, and recommendations for future improvements. - Supporting the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies. - Engaging in hands-on work within the modification shop to understand technical processes. - Contributing to safety and quality initiatives within the distribution center. This internship provides an opportunity to apply engineering concepts in a real-world manufacturing environment, focusing on process optimization and technical problem-solving.

To be considered for this internship, you must have: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Basic understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. - Hands-on aptitude and willingness to work in a distribution center and modification shop environment. - Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., during the summer internship period.
