Engineering Manager

Turnkey is developer-first infrastructure for private key management, making it simple to create wallets, sign transactions, and automate on-chain actions through one elegant API, without ever exposing sensitive key material. Founded by the team who scaled Coinbase Custody from zero to a $100M+ ARR business and helped protect over $100B in crypto assets, Turnkey is tackling crypto security at its foundational level. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to drive growth throughout our engineering organization. Manage a high-performing engineering team and guide the development of Turnkey’s product and infrastructure

Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in web3 and guide their integration into our product and infrastructure

Provide strategic technical guidance and leadership, ensuring intelligent architectural decisions that support our long-term goals

Oversee the design and implementation of modern application architectures, optimized for the unique challenges of web3

Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of our infrastructure, addressing the complexities of decentralized systems

Contribute to defining and delivering processes that drive quality & consistency to our product & infrastructure development

An understanding of modern application architectures and ability to lead in-depth discussions on how they should be developed and deployed

- 5+ years of engineering management experience, with a track record of leading high-performing teams

- Deep understanding of web3, cryptography, or security infrastructure, with ability to evaluate emerging technologies

- Proven experience in strategic planning, architectural decision-making, and technical vision setting

- Strong collaboration skills to work with leadership on recruitment, onboarding, and cross-functional initiatives

- Experience scaling engineering organizations, ideally in a developer-first or infrastructure product context

- Excellent communication and low-ego leadership style, aligned with high-agency, high-autonomy culture

- Ability to guide design and implementation of modern application architecture, with hands-on technical background in low-level systems or crypto preferred
