PURPOSE OF POSITION: A Ski Instructor is responsible for teaching alpine skiing to Deer Valley guests (children or adults) at first time to expert ability zones.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach alpine skiing in first time through expert ability zones (based on experience and certification) using
PSIA/AASIteaching methodology and following the safety codes of the mountain Must be dressed, equipped, and at the meeting location for lessons on time Must adhere to lesson times, lunch breaks, and schedules of the Ski School Plan, organize, and implement appropriate ability zone plan for each ski lesson Conduct lessons in a professional manner Attend instructor meetings, training, and performance reviews Adhere to Ski School and HR policies and procedures Display professional conduct with parents, children, and caregivers in all situations Write daily progress cards for students and their parents Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: Current Alpine Level 2 certification or foreign equivalent required 300 hours Deer Valley experience or 400 hours of alpine ski teaching experience Must have excellent guest service skills Able to ski first time to expert terrain in variable conditions Able to lift 40 lbs., stand/ski six to nine hours, and perform bending, lifting, and twisting movements Able to work in variable weather and snow conditions Must be willing to work weekends and holidays Own/use alpine ski equipment
