$21.78 - $30.53The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining data processes, updating databases, and generating analytical reports to support Nursing Finance operations. Collects, processes, and maintains nursing performance data from multiple sources including financial systems, clinical databases, and operational platforms. Ensures data integrity through systematic validation, reconciliation, and quality control processes. Updates and maintains complex data models, crosswalks, and index files that enable accurate financial and operational reporting. Runs scheduled reports, updates raw data files, and supports Nursing Practice with data-driven insights for variance analysis and budget planning. Demonstrates technical proficiency in data management tools including advanced Excel, database systems, and reporting platforms. Actively assists the Director of Nursing Practice Finance and Sr Financial Analyst in generating the overall annual Nursing operating budget presentation. Clear communication, strong attention to detail, and willingness to learn are essential for success.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under the general direction of the Sr. Financial Analyst, conforming to URMC policies but retaining latitude for independent judgment and initiative:
Report Maintenanceand Data Analysis:
Assemble NDNQI data submission package for nursing indicators
Update, maintain, and troubleshoot data models, queries, crosswalks, and index files to ensure data accuracy and consistency
Extract, validate, and prepare data from various systems (e.g., Workday, Axiom, UKG, NPD, SQL servers) for financial and operational reporting
Prepare and distribute routine reports such as Cost per Patient Day Detail Summary, medical supply purchase reports, and Manpower reports
Provide support for ad hoc data analysis and reporting requests
Budget Planningand Fiscal Management:
Support the monthly audit reconciliation process, including preparing templates and completing various reconciliation tasks
Maintain gift and education reconciliation file infrastructure
Prepare and submit monthly standard journal entries for specific allocations and ledger transaction errors
Support annual budget preparation through data compilation, report generation, and plan file reviews in Axiom
Process basic FTE/budget modification requests, ensuring accurate data entry and system updates
Data Integrityand Quality Control:
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all relevant systems and sources
Maintain the integrity and structure of assigned databases and data files
Protect the confidentiality of all sensitive patient, employee, and financial data
Document data sources, transformations, report methodologies, and standard operating procedures for data management processes
Collaboration and Support:
Provide clean, validated data to support departmental analysis, financial projections, and strategic initiatives
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure efficient and accurate data flow
Serve as a resource to nursing departments related to UR Financials tasks and processes
Assist with audit processes by compiling and verifying necessary documentation
Support the finance team by preparing data and reports for presentations to nursing leadership and executive groups
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in statistical analysis, data base management, or related discipline and 1 year experience with data analysis or customer resource management systems required
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Healthcare experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy required
Strong organizational, data analysis and problem solving skills required
Familiarity with statistics and statistical analysis preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred, including advanced formulas and a foundational understanding of data modeling concepts or experience managing relational databases
Ability to visually portray data through dashboards, charts, and reports preferred
Ability to learn and navigate multiple software platforms including UR Financials, UKG, Axiom, and clinical databases
