Finance Apprentice

As a Finance Apprentice at Vent Engineering, you will join a close-knit finance team of four, supporting key financial operations in a dynamic SME environment. Your responsibilities will include assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and managing accounts payable and receivable. You will help maintain accurate financial records, prepare monthly reports, and support the preparation of management accounts. Additionally, you will assist with payroll processing, expense tracking, and VAT returns. You will collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate financial data entry, and you will have the opportunity to learn and apply financial software tools. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced setting, where you will develop practical skills in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance. You will also support audit preparations and contribute to process improvements within the finance function. The position is full-time and permanent, based in Poole, Dorset, and is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual seeking to build a career in finance.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You must be studying towards or have completed a relevant finance qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, or equivalent). Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. You should possess good numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software is required. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, as you will collaborate closely with a small team. You must be organized, able to prioritize tasks, and committed to professional development.
