As a Procurement Coordinator Apprentice, you will support the procurement team in managing the supply chain for lighting components and materials used in commercial interior solutions. Your primary responsibilities include assisting with purchase order processing, tracking supplier deliveries, and maintaining accurate inventory records. You will coordinate with internal departments such as sales, production, and warehouse to ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing. Daily tasks involve communicating with suppliers to confirm order status, resolve discrepancies, and negotiate lead times. You will also help maintain supplier databases, update pricing information, and generate reports on procurement metrics. Additionally, you will participate in cost-saving initiatives by identifying alternative suppliers or materials. This role requires close collaboration with the quality assurance team to ensure incoming materials meet specifications. You will learn to use procurement software and ERP systems to streamline ordering processes. As part of your apprenticeship, you will receive on-the-job training in supply chain management, inventory control, and vendor relationship management. You will also assist in preparing documentation for import/export shipments and ensure compliance with company policies. The role involves occasional support for the production team during peak periods to understand material usage and production scheduling. You will be expected to contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste and improving efficiency in the procurement cycle.
