As an IT Support Apprentice, you will provide first-line technical support to end-users, ensuring efficient resolution of hardware, software, and network issues. Your responsibilities include:
- Responding to IT support tickets and phone calls, diagnosing and resolving technical problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, software applications, and security updates.
- Assisting with user account management, including password resets, access permissions, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Troubleshooting network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and LAN problems.
- Documenting support requests, solutions, and procedures in the IT service management system.
- Escalating complex issues to senior IT staff and following up to ensure timely resolution.
- Participating in IT projects, such as system upgrades, hardware refreshes, and software deployments.
- Providing guidance to users on best practices for IT security and data protection.
- Maintaining an inventory of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
- Collaborating with team members to improve IT processes and service delivery.

Qualifications and requirements:
- Strong interest in IT and technology, with a desire to build a career in IT support.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common software applications.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.
- No prior professional IT experience required; this is an entry-level apprenticeship position.
