2026 Internship Program (DOSWELL)

As a 2026 Intern at Kings Dominion & Soak City, you will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic amusement park environment. Your responsibilities will be tailored to your assigned department and may include: - Operations: Assist in the daily operation of rides, attractions, and water slides, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction. Monitor ride queues, enforce safety protocols, and provide excellent customer service. - Guest Services: Support guest inquiries, resolve issues, and enhance the overall visitor experience. Assist with ticketing, lost and found, and special event coordination. - Entertainment: Participate in live shows, character performances, or event planning. Help with stage setup, costume management, and audience engagement. - Maintenance: Work with the maintenance team to inspect, repair, and maintain rides and facilities. Learn about preventive maintenance and safety inspections. - Marketing & Communications: Assist with social media content, promotional campaigns, and guest surveys. Help create materials to attract visitors and improve park visibility. - Administration: Support office tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and inventory management. Collaborate with supervisors on special projects. - Safety & Compliance: Follow all park safety guidelines, participate in training sessions, and report any hazards. Ensure a clean and safe environment for guests and staff. - Team Collaboration: Work alongside a diverse team of professionals and fellow interns. Attend team meetings, contribute ideas, and participate in park-wide initiatives. - Learning & Development: Engage in professional development workshops, networking events, and mentorship opportunities. Gain insight into the amusement industry and build transferable skills. - Seasonal Support: Adapt to varying park hours, including weekends and holidays. Assist with peak season operations and special events as needed.

To be considered for the 2026 Internship Program at Kings Dominion & Soak City, candidates must meet the following qualifications: - Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university (undergraduate or graduate program). - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. - Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. - Reliable transportation to and from the park in Doswell, Virginia. - Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of the internship. - Ability to pass a background check (if required for specific roles). - Previous customer service or hospitality experience is a plus. - Interest in the amusement, entertainment, or tourism industry. - Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, etc.). - Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
