New Graduate Registered Nurse

As a New Graduate Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will provide direct patient care in a surgical setting, ensuring safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures. Your responsibilities include assessing patient health status, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and monitoring vital signs and responses to anesthesia and surgery. You will assist surgeons and surgical teams by preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and maintaining a sterile field. You will also document patient information accurately, administer medications as prescribed, and educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other nursing staff, is essential to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes. You will participate in quality improvement initiatives, adhere to infection control protocols, and uphold patient safety standards. Additionally, you will respond to emergencies and changes in patient condition, providing critical interventions as needed. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also engage in ongoing learning and professional development to stay current with best practices in perioperative nursing.

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky or compact state eligibility. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. No prior experience required; new graduates are welcome. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
