As a 2026 Intern at Kings Dominion & Soak City, you will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic amusement park environment. Your responsibilities will be tailored to your assigned department and may include:
Operations: Assist in the daily operation of rides and attractions, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction. Monitor ride queues, enforce height and safety requirements, and provide clear instructions to guests. Support ride maintenance teams with basic inspections and troubleshooting.
Guest Services: Welcome and assist guests with inquiries, directions, and park information. Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally. Help manage lost and found, ticket sales, and season pass processing.
Entertainment: Support live shows and special events by assisting with stage setup, costume management, and performer coordination. Help with crowd control during performances and parades.
Food & Beverage: Work in park restaurants, snack stands, or catering areas. Take orders, prepare food items, maintain cleanliness, and handle cash transactions. Ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Retail: Operate merchandise locations, stock shelves, process sales, and assist guests with purchases. Maintain visual merchandising standards and inventory accuracy.
Aquatics: At Soak City, assist with water slide operations, lifeguarding duties (if certified), and pool area supervision. Enforce water safety rules and respond to emergencies as trained.
Administration: Support park management with data entry, scheduling, filing, and other office tasks. Assist with special projects, event planning, and departmental communications.
Maintenance: Help with general park upkeep, landscaping, painting, and minor repairs. Work alongside skilled tradespeople to learn basic maintenance skills.
Interns will participate in a structured program that includes orientation, ongoing training, and mentorship. You will collaborate with a diverse team, develop professional skills, and contribute to creating memorable guest experiences. The internship runs throughout the 2026 season, with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.
