Entry Level Graduate Lab Technician

The Lab Technician works under close supervision to perform routine laboratory testing and analysis in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures and industry methods. This role supports product testing for a variety of materials and consumer products, ensuring that all work meets applicable standards and safety requirements. The position offers the opportunity to learn the physical testing industry and contribute to testing programs for various materials. Key responsibilities include preparing samples for testing according to specified protocols, conducting physical and mechanical tests on materials such as textiles, plastics, metals, and composites, and accurately recording and documenting test results. The technician will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness. They will follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Additionally, the technician will assist in troubleshooting test procedures and equipment issues, and communicate findings to senior staff. They may also participate in quality control checks and assist in the development of new testing methods under guidance. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to strict deadlines, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented lab setting.

Qualifications and requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a science-related field such as chemistry, biology, materials science, or engineering. No prior laboratory experience is required, but coursework or internship experience in a lab setting is preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures accurately. Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Must be willing to learn and adapt to new testing methods and equipment.
