MED TECH/LAB SCIENTIST - DAYS - FULL-TIME - MICROBIOLOGY

The Medical Technologist/Lab Scientist in Microbiology performs, calculates, and reports routine and special laboratory tests. Responsibilities include maintaining laboratory equipment and troubleshooting operational issues. The role involves evaluating test results and quality control data to ensure accuracy and reliability. The individual serves as a resource for new employees and students, providing training and guidance. Additionally, the position assists in evaluating new test procedures to improve laboratory practices. The work is conducted in a microbiology setting, focusing on diagnostic testing and quality assurance.

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) from a recognized accrediting agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT). Previous experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and teaching skills.
