Paint Technician Apprentice

As a Paint Technician Apprentice, you will learn and perform a variety of paint type applications on an assortment of materials, primarily focusing on vehicle refinishing. Your responsibilities include using state-of-the-art technology to ensure a perfect match of paint and finish to the original vehicle. You will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to develop expertise in surface preparation, mixing paints, applying primers, basecoats, and clearcoats, and performing quality checks to meet industry standards. You will also assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols and handling hazardous materials properly. The role involves collaborating with the team to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction, as well as documenting work performed and materials used. As you progress, you will take on more complex tasks such as color matching, blending, and repairing minor imperfections. This position is pivotal to restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition, and you will take pride in delivering high-quality results that help customers return to normal after an accident.

High school diploma or equivalent. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment. Basic understanding of automotive paint processes is a plus. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques. Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a well-ventilated shop environment. No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
