Apprenticeship Assessor - Chef

As an Apprenticeship Assessor - Chef, you will be responsible for assessing and supporting learners in their apprenticeship programs, primarily working remotely from home with occasional travel to learners' workplaces. Your key duties include: - Assessing learners' progress and performance against apprenticeship standards, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their qualifications. - Conducting regular reviews and observations of learners in their workplace settings to evaluate their practical skills and knowledge. - Developing and maintaining individual learning plans tailored to each learner's needs, ensuring they stay on track to meet program milestones. - Collaborating with employers and training providers to ensure a cohesive learning experience that aligns with industry requirements. - Documenting and reporting on learner progress, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards. - Providing guidance and mentorship to learners, helping them overcome challenges and develop their culinary skills. - Staying updated on current industry practices and apprenticeship standards to ensure assessments are relevant and rigorous. - Supporting learners in preparing for end-point assessments, including mock assessments and revision sessions. - Traveling to various learner locations as needed to conduct face-to-face assessments and build strong working relationships.

To be successful in this role, you must have: - Proven experience as a Chef, with a strong background in the culinary industry. - A recognized assessor qualification, such as A1, TAQA, or equivalent. - Experience in assessing apprenticeships or vocational training programs. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with learners, employers, and colleagues. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload of learners independently. - Proficiency in using technology for remote assessments and record-keeping. - A valid driving license and willingness to travel to learner locations as required. - Knowledge of current apprenticeship standards and assessment methodologies. - A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends.
