Apprenticeship Logistics

As an Apprentice in the Road Logistics Sales Team, you will play a key role in supporting the sales operations that drive the movement of goods across road networks. Your responsibilities will be divided into several key areas: Sales Support and Administration: Assist the sales team in preparing quotes, proposals, and presentations for clients. Maintain and update customer relationship management (CRM) systems with accurate data on leads, opportunities, and account activities. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery for clients. Customer Engagement: Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, providing timely and professional information about logistics services. Help identify potential new clients through market research and lead generation activities. Support the team in building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers. Operational Coordination: Monitor shipment progress and communicate updates to customers and internal stakeholders. Assist in resolving any issues or delays in the logistics process, ensuring customer satisfaction. Collaborate with warehouse and transport teams to optimize route planning and delivery schedules. Learning and Development: Participate in structured training programs to gain a comprehensive understanding of the logistics industry, including supply chain management, transportation regulations, and sales techniques. Shadow experienced sales professionals to learn best practices in client acquisition and account management. Complete apprenticeship coursework and assessments as required by the program. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on sales performance, customer feedback, and market trends. Analyze data to identify opportunities for improving sales processes and customer service. Contribute to team meetings with insights and suggestions for business growth.

To be successful in this apprenticeship, you should have: - A strong interest in logistics, supply chain, or sales. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. - Good organizational and time management abilities. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). - A proactive attitude and willingness to learn. - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. - No prior experience in logistics is required, but any customer service or sales experience is a plus. - Minimum educational requirement: GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above.
