OCA-FY26 Clinical Psychologist - BHIP

The Clinical Psychologist will serve within the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP), providing comprehensive mental health services to veterans. Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and evidence-based psychotherapies for a diverse patient population. The psychologist will develop and implement individualized treatment plans, collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, and provide crisis intervention as needed. Duties also involve maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with VA policies, participating in treatment team meetings, and contributing to program development and quality improvement initiatives. The psychologist will provide consultation to other healthcare providers and may supervise psychology trainees or other mental health staff. Additionally, the role includes conducting psychological testing and interpretation, providing psychoeducation to patients and families, and engaging in outreach activities to promote mental health services. The psychologist will adhere to ethical guidelines and VA regulations, ensuring culturally competent care. Responsibilities may also include participating in research activities and staying current with advancements in clinical psychology through continuing education.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be proficient in spoken and written English. Must hold a doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program in clinical, counseling, or clinical neuropsychology (school psychology not eligible). Alternatively, a doctoral degree in any psychology area with completion of an APA/CPA accredited re-specialization program in an appropriate specialty. Degrees awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally-accredited institution with a psychological dissertation also qualify. Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Non-licensed applicants may be appointed temporarily as a 'graduate psychologist' for up to two years under supervision. Completion of an APA or CPA accredited internship is required.
