The Registered Nurse in Acute Care (6C) assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on age-specific components. Responsibilities include providing competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients and overseeing licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. The nurse delivers fundamental, knowledge-based care while developing technical competencies, demonstrating integration of biopsychosocial concepts, cognitive skills, and technically competent practice.

English Language Proficiency: Proficient in basic written and spoken English per 38 U.S.C. 7403(f). Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of program completion.
