The apprenticeship involves comprehensive training in all aspects of locksmithing over a 3-4 year period. Key responsibilities include:

Automotive locksmithing: Performing lockouts, fitting keys, conducting repairs, and working with electronic transponder systems.

General locksmithing tasks: Learning and applying techniques for residential, commercial, and automotive security systems.

Attending TAFE block release sessions: Participating in structured training at the Heidelberg campus in Melbourne VIC, approximately 4 times per year, each lasting 2 weeks.

No prior experience required; this is an entry-level apprenticeship.

Candidates must be willing to commit to a 3-4 year program, including regular travel to Melbourne for TAFE block release sessions.

Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are beneficial.
