Superintendent Internship - Heavy Civil Construction

As a Superintendent Intern in Heavy Civil Construction, you will gain hands-on experience supporting field operations on active infrastructure projects. Your primary responsibilities include assisting project superintendents in daily site management, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, and ensuring project schedules are met. You will participate in pre-construction planning, including reviewing blueprints and specifications, and help maintain safety and quality standards on-site. Additionally, you will document daily activities, track material deliveries, and assist with progress reporting. This role involves traveling to project sites across the Southeast, Southwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions, where you will learn to manage construction crews, resolve field issues, and contribute to project efficiency. You will also attend project meetings, support cost control efforts, and develop skills in resource allocation and problem-solving. The internship is designed to prepare you for a career as a construction superintendent, focusing on practical application of civil engineering and construction management principles.

Currently enrolled in a degree program in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Strong interest in heavy civil construction and field operations. Willingness to travel extensively to project sites in the Southeast, Southwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and outdoors. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Prior internship or work experience in construction is a plus.
