Cost Accountant (Entry-Level / New Graduate On-Site)

As a Cost Accountant at our Delaware City manufacturing facility, you will support accounting operations with a focus on cost analysis and inventory management. Your responsibilities will include: Cost Accounting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of standard costs for manufactured products, including raw materials, labor, and overhead. Monitor and report on cost variances, ensuring accuracy in cost accounting records. Inventory Management: Support monthly inventory counts, reconcile inventory balances, and analyze inventory valuation. Work with operations to ensure proper inventory tracking and control. Financial Reporting: Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports related to manufacturing costs. Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Data Analysis: Analyze production data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements. Provide insights to management on cost trends and variances. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production, supply chain, and finance teams to understand manufacturing processes and support cost-related decision-making. Participate in projects to improve cost accounting systems and procedures. Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to cost accounting. Training and Development: Participate in training and mentorship programs designed for new graduates to develop skills in cost accounting and manufacturing finance.

Qualifications and requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (recent graduates or entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply) - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) - Basic understanding of cost accounting principles and financial reporting - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to work on-site in Delaware City, DE - Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration - No prior work experience required; training and mentorship provided
