Cost Accountant (Entry-Level / New Graduate | On-Site)

As a Cost Accountant at our Delaware City facility, you will support manufacturing accounting operations. Your primary responsibilities include: Cost Analysis and Reporting: Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead. Prepare monthly cost reports and variance analyses to support decision-making. Inventory Management: Assist in physical inventory counts, reconcile inventory records, and ensure accurate valuation. Monitor inventory movements and identify discrepancies. Standard Costing: Help maintain standard cost systems, update cost rolls, and review bill of materials and routings for accuracy. Month-End Close: Support the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing cost variances. Process Improvement: Collaborate with operations and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve accounting processes. Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Assist with internal and external audit requests. Data Management: Maintain accurate cost data in the ERP system and generate ad-hoc reports as needed. Cross-Functional Support: Work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to understand cost drivers and provide financial insights.

Qualifications and requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (recent graduates or entry-level candidates welcome). - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs). - Basic understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes. - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. - Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus but not required. - No prior work experience required; training and mentorship provided.
