The Registered Nurse in the Same Day Surgery Unit provides comprehensive pre-operative and procedural care to patients. Key responsibilities include conducting nursing assessments of patients, verifying consent forms and health history (H&P) validations, and initiating intravenous fluids through venipuncture. The RN assists with peripheral nerve blocks, ensures all laboratory work and other pre-operative or procedural testing is completed and effectively communicated to the healthcare team.

Candidates must be proficient in basic written and spoken English as per 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
