Regional Internship Manager

The Regional Internship Manager supports the Innovative Internship Program, a statewide initiative to expand paid internship opportunities for higher education students. This role is part of a mission-driven team focused on strengthening Virginia’s economy and shaping talent development. Key responsibilities include: - Partnering with companies to design and implement paid internship programs that meet industry needs and student development goals. - Building and maintaining relationships with higher education institutions, employers, and community organizations to promote internship opportunities. - Providing guidance and resources to employers on best practices for internship program structure, mentorship, and evaluation. - Tracking and reporting program metrics, including internship placements, student outcomes, and employer satisfaction. - Facilitating workshops and training sessions for employers and students on internship readiness and program expectations. - Collaborating with internal teams to align internship initiatives with broader economic development strategies. - Identifying and addressing barriers to internship participation, particularly for underrepresented student populations. - Managing a portfolio of employer partners, ensuring ongoing engagement and support throughout the internship lifecycle. - Representing the program at events, conferences, and meetings to raise awareness and recruit new partners. - Contributing to the continuous improvement of program processes and materials based on feedback and data analysis.

Qualifications and requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, education, or a related field. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in workforce development, internship program management, or employer engagement. - Strong understanding of internship best practices and talent development strategies. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Experience with data tracking and reporting tools. - Knowledge of Virginia’s higher education landscape and economic sectors is preferred. - Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including employers, educators, and community organizations. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
