岗位职责
As a Policy Analyst Intern, you will support the NIH Office of Science Policy (OSP) in advancing national science and technology policy. Your responsibilities will include:
Policy Analysis and Research: Conducting research and analysis on science policy issues, including legislative and regulatory developments, to inform policy recommendations. You will synthesize complex scientific and policy information into clear, actionable summaries for senior staff.
Document Preparation: Drafting, editing, and reviewing policy documents, such as briefing papers, reports, and presentations. You will assist in preparing materials for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to OSP standards.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with policy experts and NIH staff to support meetings, workshops, and other events. You may help coordinate logistics, prepare agendas, and document outcomes.
Project Support: Contributing to ongoing projects by tracking milestones, organizing data, and providing administrative support as needed. You will learn to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Learning and Development: Participating in training sessions and mentorship opportunities to gain hands-on experience in science policy. You will work side-by-side with leading policy experts to understand strategies for advancing national science and technology policy.
This internship is designed to provide practical experience in a federal policy setting, focusing on the intersection of science and policy. You will be expected to work in a hybrid capacity, with some time spent at the Bethesda, MD office and some remote work.

To be considered for this internship, you must meet the following qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate, graduate, or professional student in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, science policy, life sciences, health policy, or a related discipline).
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret scientific and policy information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting reports or policy documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
- Interest in science policy and the NIH mission.
- Prior internship or coursework in policy analysis is preferred but not required.
