Graduate Estimator (Mechanical)

As a Graduate Estimator (Mechanical), you will support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical projects. Your primary responsibilities include: - Assisting in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for mechanical works, including materials, labor, and equipment. - Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to identify scope and requirements. - Conducting quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and specifications. - Sourcing and obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. - Analyzing and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness. - Supporting the preparation of tender submissions, including pricing schedules and supporting documentation. - Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals. - Maintaining and updating cost databases and historical data for future reference. - Assisting in value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. - Participating in site visits and meetings to gather information for accurate estimating. - Contributing to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures. - Providing administrative support to the estimating team as needed.

To be successful in this role, you should have: - A degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, or a related technical field. - Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. - A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude. - Basic understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes is advantageous. - Previous internship or work experience in estimating or construction is a plus but not required.
