Graduate Estimator (Electrical)

As a Graduate Estimator (Electrical), you will support the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical projects. Your primary responsibilities include: Cost Estimation: Analyze project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical installations, including materials, labor, and equipment. Supplier and Subcontractor Liaison: Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budget constraints. Bid Preparation: Assist in compiling and submitting tender bids, ensuring all documentation is complete and submitted within deadlines. Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to review scope changes, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving measures. Data Management: Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and pricing information to improve estimating accuracy. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties in estimates, providing recommendations to mitigate them. Continuous Learning: Participate in training programs to develop technical knowledge of electrical systems, industry standards, and estimating software. You will work closely with senior estimators and project teams, gaining hands-on experience in the full lifecycle of electrical projects from initial inquiry to project handover. This role offers exposure to diverse projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential electrical installations.

To succeed in this role, you should have: - A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical field. - Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; familiarity with estimating software is a plus. - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. - A proactive attitude and willingness to learn. - Prior internship or work experience in electrical estimating or construction is advantageous but not essential.
