Academic Internship Coordinator

The Academic Internship Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting all aspects of the academic internship program. This role involves working closely with students, faculty, and external partners to facilitate meaningful internship experiences that align with academic goals. Key responsibilities include: - Managing the internship application and approval process, ensuring compliance with university policies and academic standards. - Advising students on internship opportunities, helping them identify positions that match their career interests and academic requirements. - Developing and maintaining relationships with employers and community organizations to expand internship offerings. - Collaborating with faculty to integrate internships into the curriculum and ensure academic credit is appropriately awarded. - Tracking student progress and outcomes, collecting data for program evaluation and reporting. - Organizing workshops and informational sessions to educate students and faculty about internship procedures and benefits. - Serving as a point of contact for internship-related inquiries, resolving issues as they arise. - Maintaining accurate records and documentation for all internship placements. - Supporting the development of internship policies and procedures to enhance program effectiveness. - Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to strategic planning for experiential learning initiatives.

Qualifications and requirements: - Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in a related field such as education, counseling, or business. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in internship coordination, career services, or academic advising. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. - Excellent organizational and project management abilities. - Proficiency in using database systems and Microsoft Office Suite. - Knowledge of experiential learning theories and best practices. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Experience with student information systems (e.g., Banner) is a plus.
