Battery Engineering Internship

As a Battery Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the development and optimization of next-generation battery materials and processes. Your responsibilities will be organized across several key areas: Research and Development: Assist in designing and executing experiments to improve battery material performance, including synthesis, characterization, and testing of new materials. Analyze experimental data using statistical tools and electrochemical techniques to identify trends and optimize material properties. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale up promising materials from lab to pilot production. Process Engineering: Support the development and validation of manufacturing processes for battery materials, including mixing, coating, and drying operations. Monitor and troubleshoot process parameters to ensure consistent quality and yield. Document standard operating procedures and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Testing and Characterization: Conduct electrochemical testing (e.g., cycling, impedance spectroscopy) on coin cells and pouch cells. Perform physical and chemical characterization using techniques such as SEM, XRD, BET, and TGA. Maintain detailed records of experiments and results in laboratory notebooks and databases. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze large datasets from experiments and production runs to identify correlations and insights. Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to the engineering team. Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions for problem-solving. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in the laboratory and production areas. Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety awareness. Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements related to battery materials handling. Collaboration and Learning: Work closely with senior engineers and scientists to gain hands-on experience in battery technology. Attend internal seminars and workshops to deepen understanding of battery chemistry and engineering. Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge and supporting peers.

Qualifications and requirements: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field. - Strong understanding of electrochemistry and battery materials. - Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques such as synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical testing. - Proficiency in data analysis using software like Python, MATLAB, or Excel. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Prior internship or research experience in battery technology is preferred.
