Practicum Student Internship

The Practicum Student Intern will support the elimination of health inequities within San Francisco's Black and marginalized communities through hands-on involvement in public health education, advocacy, and holistic health services. Responsibilities include: Program Support: Assist in developing and implementing health initiatives focused on prevention and management. Engage directly with community programs to deliver health education and resources. Advocacy and Outreach: Participate in community outreach efforts to promote health equity. Help organize and facilitate workshops, events, and health screenings. Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of program activities and participant data. Support the coordination of logistics for health events and meetings. Research and Evaluation: Contribute to the collection and analysis of data to assess program effectiveness. Assist in preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders. Collaboration: Work closely with staff and community partners to align activities with organizational goals. Attend team meetings and contribute to strategic planning. This internship offers practical experience in public health settings, emphasizing direct community engagement and holistic approaches to health.

- Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in public health, social work, health education, or a related field. - Strong interest in health equity and working with Black and marginalized communities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Previous volunteer or internship experience in community health or advocacy is preferred but not required. - Must be able to commit to a minimum of 10-15 hours per week during the internship period.
