Co-op / Internship Engineers

As a Co-op/Internship Engineer, you will work directly with project teams on active construction jobsites, contributing to large-scale environmental infrastructure projects that provide clean water to millions. Your responsibilities will be hands-on and integral to project execution. Key responsibilities include: - Assisting project managers and field engineers in daily construction operations, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. - Conducting site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. - Supporting the preparation and review of project documentation, such as submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and progress reports. - Collaborating with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to coordinate work activities and resolve on-site issues. - Participating in safety meetings and promoting a culture of safety on the jobsite. - Performing material takeoffs and assisting with procurement and inventory management. - Using engineering software and tools to analyze data, track project progress, and generate reports. - Contributing to value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize project outcomes. - Engaging in continuous learning through mentorship, training sessions, and exposure to various phases of construction. This role is designed for students seeking practical experience in civil, environmental, or construction engineering within a dynamic, field-based environment. You will gain firsthand knowledge of how large-scale water infrastructure projects are built, from groundbreaking to completion.

To be considered for this Co-op/Internship Engineer position, candidates must meet the following qualifications: - Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field. - Strong academic standing with coursework in construction methods, materials, structural analysis, or environmental systems. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams. - Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment, including walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods on active construction sites. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) is a plus. - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to jobsites. - Prior internship or co-op experience in construction or engineering is preferred but not required. - Must be available for the full co-op term: Fall 2026 (August through December) or Spring 2027 (January through May).
