岗位职责
As a Spectacle Technician Apprentice, you will learn and perform the practical skills required to manufacture and repair spectacles in a professional optical environment. Your primary responsibilities include:
Spectacle Assembly and Finishing: Assemble spectacle frames with lenses according to prescription specifications, ensuring accurate alignment and fit. This involves edging lenses, mounting them into frames, and adjusting frames for comfort and functionality.
Quality Control: Inspect finished spectacles for defects, verify prescription accuracy, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This includes checking lens power, axis, and prism, as well as frame alignment and surface quality.
Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs on damaged spectacles, such as replacing broken frames, adjusting hinges, and replacing nose pads or temple tips. Maintain and clean optical equipment and tools.
Customer Interaction: Assist customers with frame selection, fitting adjustments, and troubleshooting issues related to their spectacles. Provide advice on frame styles and lens options based on customer needs.
Inventory Management: Manage stock levels of frames, lenses, and consumables, ensuring adequate supply for daily operations. Organize and maintain the workshop area for efficiency and safety.
Administrative Tasks: Document work orders, record measurements, and update customer records accurately. Handle basic billing and scheduling tasks as needed.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with optometrists, dispensing opticians, and other technicians to ensure seamless service delivery. Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Training and Development: Actively participate in the apprenticeship program, completing coursework and practical assessments to develop skills in spectacle making. Learn about optical theory, materials, and manufacturing processes under the guidance of experienced technicians.
