As an IT Technician Apprentice, you will provide first-line technical support, maintain systems and networks, manage user accounts, and assist with IT projects while learning from experienced professionals.

As an IT Technician Apprentice, you will provide first-line technical support to end-users across the organization, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems. Your responsibilities include: Technical Support: Respond to IT support tickets and phone calls, diagnosing and resolving issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and software applications. Escalate complex problems to senior technicians as needed. System Maintenance: Assist in the setup, configuration, and deployment of new hardware and software. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, antivirus scans, and backups. Network Administration: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and assist with the management of routers, switches, and firewalls. Support the implementation of network security measures. User Account Management: Create, modify, and disable user accounts in Active Directory and other systems. Manage email accounts, permissions, and access rights. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, support requests, and solutions. Update knowledge base articles to help users resolve common issues independently. Project Assistance: Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts. Collaborate with team members to test and implement solutions. Training and Development: Learn from experienced IT professionals through on-the-job training and formal apprenticeship coursework. Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices. You will work closely with the IT team to ensure high availability and reliability of all technology resources, contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the business.

To be successful in this role, you should have: - **Education**: GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A*-C/9-4 in English and Mathematics. A-levels or equivalent qualifications are desirable but not essential. - **Technical Skills**: Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common software applications. Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) is a plus. - **Soft Skills**: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and a customer-service oriented mindset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - **Experience**: No prior professional IT experience is required, but any hands-on experience with computers, troubleshooting, or IT support (e.g., through school projects, internships, or personal interest) is advantageous. - **Other**: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. A valid UK driving license may be beneficial for occasional travel between sites.
