Staff Psychologist-Recruitment/Relocation Incentive - EDRP Approved

The Staff Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, providing individual and group psychotherapy, and performing crisis intervention. The psychologist will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, participate in treatment planning meetings, and contribute to program development and evaluation. Duties also involve maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with VHA policies, supervising psychology trainees as assigned, and engaging in quality improvement initiatives. The psychologist may be required to provide consultation to other healthcare professionals and to participate in outreach activities to enhance access to mental health services for veterans.

Qualifications include a doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program, with a specialty area consistent with the assignment (excluding school psychology). Alternatively, a doctoral degree in any area of psychology with completion of an APA or CPA accredited re-specialization program, or a doctoral degree awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally-accredited institution with a dissertation primarily psychological in nature. Must have successfully completed an APA or CPA accredited professional psychology internship, or meet alternative internship requirements as specified by VHA policy. Candidates must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. Non-licensed applicants may be appointed temporarily as a graduate psychologist at GS-11 or GS-12 for up to two years, under supervision, with licensure required within that period. United States citizenship and English language proficiency are required.
