Staff Psychologist-EDRP and RECRUITMENT/RELOCATION INCENTIVE

The Staff Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services within a Veterans Affairs healthcare setting. Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, diagnoses, and evidence-based psychotherapies for a diverse patient population. The psychologist develops and implements treatment plans, provides crisis intervention, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care. Duties also involve maintaining accurate clinical documentation in accordance with VA policies, participating in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives, and supervising psychology trainees as needed. The psychologist may engage in consultation with other healthcare providers, contribute to the development of clinical protocols, and participate in research activities aligned with the facility's mission. Additionally, the role includes providing education and support to patients and their families, facilitating group therapy sessions, and performing other clinical duties as assigned to meet the needs of the veteran population.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in psychology from an APA, PCSAS, or CPA accredited program, with a specialty area consistent with the assignment (excluding school psychology). Alternatively, a doctoral degree in any area of psychology with completion of an APA or CPA accredited re-specialization program is acceptable. A doctoral degree awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally-accredited institution with a dissertation primarily psychological in nature may also qualify. Candidates must have completed a professional psychology internship accredited by APA or CPA, or meet alternative internship requirements as specified by VA policy. A full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia is required. Non-licensed applicants may be considered for a temporary appointment as a graduate psychologist for up to two years under supervision. Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory. U.S. citizenship is required, though non-citizens may be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
