MATHEMATICIAN

As a Mathematician, you will apply mathematical methods, techniques, and procedures to solve complex problems. Your responsibilities include analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, and recognizing solutions. You will communicate factual and procedural information clearly, both orally and in writing, to support decision-making and project objectives. Additionally, you will utilize computer operations and standard software applications to perform mathematical modeling, data analysis, and reporting tasks. This role requires a strong foundation in general scientific theories and principles of mathematics, with a focus on practical application in a professional setting.

Degree in mathematics or equivalent major that includes at least 24 semester hours in mathematics. Knowledge of mathematical methods, techniques, and procedures, as well as general scientific theories and principles of mathematics. Ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions. Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing. Knowledge of computer operations and standard software applications. Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and/or part-time work, provided duties and responsibilities are clearly identified along with total hours per week. Volunteer work experience, including through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps), is also considered.
