DATA SCIENTIST

As a Data Scientist in the PALACE Acquire Program, you will engage in a structured three-year formal training plan designed to foster both personal and professional growth. Your primary responsibilities include applying data science principles and methods to analyze systems and operational problems. You will use your knowledge of mathematics and statistical analysis to perform assignments and prepare detailed reports. Additionally, you will apply data science techniques to routine assignments, ensuring effective and ethical handling of change, complexity, and problem-solving. You will also communicate factual and procedural information clearly to support team and organizational objectives.

Basic Requirement: A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a directly related field at the baccalaureate level or higher. For GS-7 level: Completion of a 4-year bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (overall GPA of 2.95 or higher, or a GPA of 3.45 or higher in the major). For GS-9 level: Completion of 2 years of graduate education leading to a master's degree (overall GPA of 2.95 or higher, or a GPA of 3.45 or higher in the major). Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include: professional knowledge of data science principles and methods for analyzing systems and operational problems; knowledge of mathematics and analysis for performing assignments and preparing reports; skill in applying data science principles to routine assignments; and ability to communicate factual and procedural information clearly.
