CHEMIST

As a Chemist, you will apply professional knowledge of chemistry concepts, theories, principles, and standard practices to perform a variety of assignments. Your responsibilities include conducting studies and preparing reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate factual and procedural information clearly. You will work effectively and ethically with change, complexity, and problem-solving, while experiencing both personal and professional growth. You will collaborate with peers and management in a professional manner, planning and organizing work to consult effectively. This role involves performing assignments that require skill in applying the principles, concepts, and practices of chemistry to ensure accurate and efficient outcomes.

Degree in physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by coursework in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics. For GS-7: completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level. For GS-9: completion of 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. Professional knowledge of chemistry concepts, theories, principles, and standard practices. Skill in applying these principles to perform assignments. Ability to perform studies and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work professionally with peers and management. Ability to plan, organize work, and consult effectively.
