Safety Specialist Internship- Werne

As a Safety Specialist Intern at our Werne fulfillment center, you will support the site safety team in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. Your primary responsibilities include: - Conducting regular safety audits and inspections of the fulfillment center to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with Amazon safety standards and local regulations. - Assisting in the investigation of workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions. - Participating in the development and delivery of safety training programs for associates and leadership, covering topics such as proper lifting techniques, emergency procedures, and hazard communication. - Analyzing safety data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and preparing reports for management review. - Collaborating with operations teams to implement safety initiatives and best practices, including ergonomic improvements and process changes. - Supporting emergency response planning and drills, ensuring all team members are prepared for potential incidents. - Engaging with associates on the floor to promote a culture of safety, answering questions and addressing concerns in real time. - Assisting with the maintenance of safety documentation, records, and compliance files. - Participating in continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing workplace injuries and enhancing overall safety performance. - Providing administrative support to the safety team as needed, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and tracking action items. To be successful in this role, you should have: - Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret safety data and identify root causes. - Excellent communication skills in both German and English, with the ability to train and influence others. - Basic knowledge of safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EU directives) is preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including walking long distances, climbing stairs, and standing for extended periods. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Prior internship or work experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics setting is a plus. - Must be eligible to work in Germany.
