As an intern or thesis student in the Operational Analysis and Studies department at Airbus Defence and Space, you will support the team in modeling and simulation activities. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing simulation models for operational analysis studies, using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or similar software.
- Conducting data analysis and interpretation to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborating with senior engineers to design and validate simulation scenarios.
- Documenting model assumptions, methodologies, and results in technical reports.
- Participating in team meetings and presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Assisting in the maintenance and improvement of existing simulation frameworks.
- Contributing to the development of new analytical methods and tools.
This role offers hands-on experience in operational research and simulation within the aerospace and defense sector. You will work on real-world projects that require analytical thinking, problem-solving, and technical proficiency.

- Enrolled student in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in modeling, simulation, and operational analysis.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
- Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., Simulink, AnyLogic) is a plus.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous.
- For thesis: ability to define and execute a research project with academic rigor.
