Tierarzt/ Internship

As a Tierarzt/Intern at AniCura, you will be an integral part of a veterinary team dedicated to providing high-quality medical care for companion animals. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions, from preventive and basic health care to advanced cases. You will work under the supervision of experienced veterinarians, gaining hands-on experience in internal medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, and intensive care. Your duties will involve conducting physical examinations, performing diagnostic procedures such as blood work, imaging, and ultrasound, and assisting in surgical procedures. You will also be responsible for monitoring patients in the intensive care unit, administering medications, and providing post-operative care. Additionally, you will participate in rehabilitation and physiotherapy sessions, offering dietary advice and recommending appropriate pet care products. You will collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, maintain accurate medical records, and communicate with pet owners about their animals' health and progress. This internship is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience, allowing you to develop clinical skills in a supportive environment while contributing to the well-being of companion animals.

To be considered for this internship, you must be a veterinary student or recent graduate from an accredited veterinary program. Strong interest in small animal medicine and surgery is essential. You should have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Basic knowledge of diagnostic procedures, including blood work and imaging, is required. Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital is preferred but not mandatory. You must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle the physical demands of the role, including lifting and restraining animals. Fluency in German is required, as you will be communicating with local pet owners and colleagues.
