Internship (d/f/m) in Satellite Operations and Failure Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) - Inklusiver Job

As an intern in the Functional Architecture and Validation Department at Airbus Defence and Space, you will support the development and validation of satellite operations and Failure Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) systems. Your responsibilities will include: - Assisting in the design and implementation of FDIR algorithms for satellite platforms, ensuring robust detection and isolation of anomalies. - Participating in the validation of satellite operational procedures through simulation and testing, including the creation of test cases and analysis of results. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and document FDIR requirements and operational concepts for satellite missions. - Supporting the integration of FDIR functions into satellite software and hardware systems, including troubleshooting and debugging. - Contributing to the development of tools and scripts for automated monitoring and analysis of satellite telemetry data. - Preparing technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to the team. - Engaging in the review of satellite operational scenarios to enhance system reliability and safety. This internship provides hands-on experience in satellite operations and FDIR, offering exposure to real-world space systems and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment.

To succeed in this role, you should have: - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. - Basic knowledge of satellite systems, orbital mechanics, or spacecraft operations. - Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB. - Understanding of control systems, fault detection, or reliability engineering is a plus. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Good communication skills in English; German is an advantage. - Previous internship or project experience in space-related topics is desirable but not required.
