As a Data Analyst Intern on the Carbon Quantitative team, you will contribute to the development of European carbon market analytics. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Data-Driven Insights: Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to carbon markets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Use statistical methods and data visualization tools to present findings to the team.
- Trading Behavior Research: Investigate and model trading behaviors in the European carbon market. Analyze historical trading data to understand market dynamics, participant strategies, and regulatory impacts.
- Fundamental Market Modeling: Assist in building and refining fundamental models that simulate carbon market behavior. Incorporate factors such as supply-demand balances, policy changes, and economic indicators to improve model accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with experienced analysts to support ongoing research projects. Participate in team meetings to discuss findings, methodologies, and next steps.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing research outcomes, model performance, and actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
- Tool Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of analytical tools and databases used for carbon market analysis. Ensure data integrity and efficiency in data processing workflows.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Respond to ad-hoc requests from team members for specific data analyses or model runs to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications and requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with complex datasets.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib).
- Knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with carbon markets or energy markets is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent communication skills in English; French or German is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- This position is suitable for an end-of-studies internship (PFE) or a gap year internship, with a duration of 6 months.
