To install snow marking stakes, a worker uses just a hammer to anchor in a 3’ fiberglass stake to mark curbs, driveway and walkway edges, fire hydrants, storm drains, and other impediments so as to avoid damage from snow clearing equipment and mark the way for operators during snow operations. ***Original***
Laborers will perform cleaning of commercial and residential properties including trash/debris pickup; leaf drop cleanup and dormant tree/shrub winter pruning incidental to site preparation in advance of the snow removal season. As included on the ONET website for 53-7062 (Laborers and Freight, Stock, and Material Movers, Hand), ahead of the main snow season: laborers will assist with preparing and deployment of trucks to be parked on client sites for ready access by crews. These tasks include installing plow and salt spreader mounting on trucks, loading trailers with shovels, snowblowers, spreaders, blowers, and ice melt bags, installing snow marking stakes and helping offload/stage equipment/materials at the site. Laborers will clean and perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools when not in use and restock materials. Entry level; requires supervision.
