Internship - Finance & Strategy

As a Finance & Strategy Intern, you will support the financial planning and strategic decision-making processes of a fast-growing freight forwarding company. Your responsibilities will be organized across three main areas: financial analysis, strategic projects, and operational support. In financial analysis, you will assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including variance analysis against budgets and forecasts. You will help maintain and update financial models that track key performance indicators such as revenue, gross margin, and operating expenses. You will also support the annual budgeting process by collecting data from various departments and consolidating it into comprehensive financial plans. Additionally, you will analyze historical financial data to identify trends and provide insights for management. For strategic projects, you will contribute to market research and competitive analysis to inform the company's growth strategy. You will help evaluate potential business opportunities, including new routes, partnerships, or service offerings, by building financial models to assess profitability and return on investment. You will also participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and scalability, such as process automation or cost optimization programs. In operational support, you will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports, and other financial transactions. You will assist in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies with internal stakeholders or external partners. You will also help maintain financial databases and ensure data integrity across systems. Furthermore, you will prepare ad-hoc analyses and presentations for senior management to support decision-making on pricing, capacity planning, and resource allocation. Throughout the internship, you will collaborate with teams across finance, operations, and sales, gaining exposure to the full scope of a logistics company's financial operations. You will be expected to take ownership of specific tasks, communicate findings clearly, and propose actionable recommendations. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to apply financial principles in a dynamic, international business environment.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Familiarity with financial statements and basic accounting principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior internship or work experience in finance, consulting, or logistics is preferred but not required. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau) is a plus.
