Apprentice Panel Beater (Experienced Apprentices Wanted!)

As an Apprentice Panel Beater, you will work alongside experienced technicians to learn and perform a range of tasks related to automotive body repair. Your primary responsibilities include: - Assisting in the repair and restoration of vehicle body panels, including dent removal, panel alignment, and replacement of damaged parts. - Using hand tools and power tools to shape, smooth, and prepare surfaces for painting or finishing. - Learning to operate specialized equipment such as welding machines, frame straightening tools, and sanding devices. - Inspecting vehicles to assess damage and determine the best repair methods under supervision. - Maintaining a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. - Following safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. - Participating in on-the-job training and completing assigned tasks efficiently and accurately. - Collaborating with team members to meet repair deadlines and quality standards. - Documenting work performed and materials used as required. - Attending trade school sessions as scheduled to complete the Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair at Kangan Institute. To be considered for this apprenticeship, you must meet the following qualifications and requirements: - Late 1st year or early 2nd year apprentice status in panel beating or a related field. - Some prior experience or exposure to panel beating, either through formal training or personal projects. - Strong passion for cars, including experience working on personal or friends’ vehicles. - Positive attitude and strong work ethic, with a willingness to learn and take direction. - Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. - Reliable and punctual, with excellent attendance record. - Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable car preferred (for commuting to trade school and ensuring consistent attendance). - Ability to commit to completing the Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair at Kangan Institute as part of the apprenticeship.
