As a Machinist Apprentice, you will develop machining and mechanical fitting skills while producing precision components for industries including defence, aerospace, mining, and renewable energy. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Learning and applying machining techniques under expert guidance to manufacture high-quality precision components.
- Assisting with workshop tasks such as tool use, machine upkeep, and supporting fitters in daily operations.
- Gaining hands-on experience in operating various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Performing quality checks on finished components to meet industry standards.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to workplace health and safety protocols.
- Collaborating with team members to meet production deadlines and troubleshoot issues.
- Participating in training sessions to build practical machining skills and theoretical knowledge.
- Supporting the maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.

- No prior experience required, as full training will be provided.
- Eligibility to work in Australia and commit to a four-year apprenticeship program.
- A Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade will be attained upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
