Industrial Refrigeration Apprenticeship

As an Industrial Refrigeration Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to learn and perform the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial refrigeration systems. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the assembly and commissioning of refrigeration equipment, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems. You will learn to diagnose and troubleshoot system faults, perform routine inspections, and carry out preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Additionally, you will be involved in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics, handling refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations, and maintaining accurate service records. You will also support the team in conducting system tests, adjusting controls, and replacing components as needed. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to learning industry best practices in a dynamic and growing field.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems, with a willingness to learn industrial refrigeration technologies. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; recent school leavers are encouraged to apply. Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in mechanical trades is advantageous. You must have good problem-solving skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and a commitment to workplace safety. Physical fitness is necessary for handling heavy equipment and working in various environments. A valid driver's license is preferred. No prior experience in refrigeration is necessary, as full training will be provided.
