Maintenance Fitter Apprenticeship

As a Maintenance Fitter Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced tradespeople to develop the skills and knowledge required to become a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter. Your responsibilities will include: - Performing routine maintenance and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. - Assisting in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical faults, using tools and diagnostic equipment. - Learning to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to carry out maintenance tasks accurately. - Conducting inspections of machinery and components to identify wear, damage, or potential issues, and reporting findings to supervisors. - Participating in the installation, assembly, and commissioning of new equipment as required. - Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to workplace health and safety regulations and procedures. - Collaborating with team members to complete maintenance projects efficiently and effectively. - Documenting maintenance activities, including work completed, parts used, and observations, in maintenance logs or systems. - Developing proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. - Engaging in on-the-job training and formal learning components of the apprenticeship program to achieve trade qualification.

To be considered for this apprenticeship, you should have: - A genuine passion for pursuing a career as a Maintenance Fitter and a strong interest in mechanical systems and engineering. - Completion of Year 12 or equivalent; school leavers are welcome to apply. - Relevant work experience through school or completion of a Certificate II in Engineering is highly regarded but not essential. - Basic understanding of mechanical principles and tools. - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety. - Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. - Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in an industrial environment. - Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tradespeople. - Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
